A Liberal man was killed in a collision with a train 11:03 a.m. today on Highway K at the west city limits of Liberal.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1999 Buick Park Avenue driven by William F. Jones, 86, Liberal, struck a 1999 GE C44-9W Burlington Northern train driven by Emery G. Redmond, 61, Ozark.
Barton County Assistant Coroner Frank Agee pronounced Jones dead at the scene.
The fatality was the 66th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
