Eleven students will be recognized during the Super Leaders induction ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Billingsly Student Center Ballroom at Missouri Southern State University.
Now in its seventh semester, the program is a joint effort between Missouri Southern and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Network to identify, cultivate and motivate future community leaders currently enrolled in college.
The fall 2015 inductees are:
Bethany Ames: sophomore, psychology major, Granby
Hailey Bass: freshmen, accounting major, Diamond
Evan Bass: junior, computer information science major, Joplin
Alyssa Farney: senior, psychology major, Joplin
Ethan Hutcheson: senior, marketing, management, and human resource management major, Carl Junction
Jayce Hylton: senior, history major, Carl Junction
Colten Lintner: junior, accounting major, Lamar, Mo.
Jared Lupo: senior, biology major, Shreveport, La.
Torie Vaughn: senior, marketing major, Carl Junction
Dillan Whistler: sophomore, logistics major, Carl Junction, Mo.
Cassandra Zeka: sophomore, pre-medicine and pre-law major, Troy, Mo.
“It is exciting to see these students complete a semester of personal and professional growth,” said Nicole Brown, director of Career Services. “The students have been in awe of the numerous opportunities in the community that they never knew existed.”
Participants completed eight sessions that explored topics such as Motive Matters and leadership development, small business and economic development, non-profits, science and technology, manufacturing and international business, healthcare, and marketing, media and advertising.
