Police: Joplin man asked young Webb City boys to perform sex acts while he recorded them

On Monday, August 14, 2017 investigators with the South West Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, Joplin Police Department, and the Webb City Police Department served a search warrant at 408 N. Cattleman Drive, #2201, Joplin Mo. 64801

James Loyd Wainright, a 36 year old white male from Joplin, MO was taken into custody by members of the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Joplin Police Department. The suspect is currently being held at the Joplin City Jail on a $250,000 cash only bond for the following charges:

3 - counts of Enticement of a Child {RSMO #573.023 class B felonies)

Wainright, on three separate occasions, allegedly approached juvenile males (all under the age of 14 years) who were walking near Hatten Park in Webb City and asked them to perform a sexual act while he recorded them. Luckily none of the juveniles carried out Wainright’s request and they immediately told their parents.

Wainright was driving a silver 2008 Mazda four door car with a spoiler on the trunk when he approached the juveniles. If anyone has any additional information pertaining to the suspect or information on similar incidents in the Joplin/Webb City Area please contact:
