Jasper Police investigate driver who drives off I-49 through a field into city crashing through fence

On Monday, February 5th, 2018 at 1354 hours, Jasper Police Department responded to the 700 block of South 2nd St. in reference to an injury accident.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver of a blue Ford truck, a 65-year-old male out of El Dorado Springs, Mo who had suffered apparent injuries to his head.

After investigation, it was learned the driver was northbound on I-49 and possibly lost conciuosness, crossing over the southbound lanes of I-49 where a collision with a southbound semi truck was barely avoided, continued through a field and into town crashing through a fence of a house and finally coming to a rest in a yard.

The male was transported by ambulance due to his injuries. No alcohol or drugs are believed to be involved.
