Southern Theatre will present the musical “Pippin” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, through Saturday, Feb. 24, in Taylor Performing Arts Center at Missouri Southern State University.
Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Roger O. Hirson, “Pippin” follows a young prince – heir to the Frankish throne – who searches for the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. In the end, he finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the un-extraordinary moments that happen every day.
The show is directed by Dr. Jim Lile, with musical direction by Dr. Susan Smith and choreography by Gerrie-Ellen Johnston.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens and students. They can be purchased from 8 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in Room 237 of the performing arts center.
