Carthage woman, Colorado man injured in three-vehicle accident on 96

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident 9:30 a.m. Saturday on MO 96, 12 miles east of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Brandon M. Hawley, 19, Dixon, crossed the center line and struck a 2016 Polaris Slingshot driven by Bryan Beamer, 49, Monument, Colorado, causing it to leave the roadway, then return to the roadway where it struck a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Jennifer K. Owens, 38, Carthage.

Beamer was treated for serious injuries and Owens for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
