Jasper residents arrested, drug operation uncovered

(From the Jasper Police Department)

Manufacture/Cultivation of a Controlled Substance Arrest

On Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 at 11:42 am, I arrived at 407 East Jackson St., Jasper, Missouri, in reference to a drug investigation.

Contact was made with the residents at the house.

A search of the residence was conducted. A marijuana grow operation was found. During the investigation, it was confirmed that drugs were being sold from the residence.

Bethany Wenger of Jasper and Tyler Cates of Jasper are both facing charges for manufacturing/distribution/delivery/production of a controlled substance as well as other drug charges.

This residence was very active with persons of the criminal element coming from other area cities to purchase drugs from inside this residence. For those who will more than likely comment and downplay the use of marijuana.... Remember what happens at houses that become known as “drug houses”....violent crime, property crimes such as stealing and subjects who are involved in other drugs such as methamphetamine, pills, etc. occur at these places. Think about that for a second.

As it has been for a while, the Jasper Police Department will continue with an aggressive approach towards illegal drug activity and will continue to to seek those out who are involved in illegal drug activity. So please do not possess, sell, cultivate or manufacture drugs in the city limits of Jasper. So it’s simple and easy..... It’s 1.13 square miles we ask that you do not use, possess, cultivate or manufacture drugs.

Thank you,
Jasper Police Dept. Officers and the good citizens of Jasper.
Both Wenger and Cates are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
