JFD responds to structure fire at 914 W. 9th

On Tuesday, 12 June, 2018, at approximately 9:12 AM the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 914 W 9th Street. The first crew arrived on scene at 9:15 AM to find a residential structure with smoke coming from the roof. Crews made an interior attack and extinguished the fire in the ceiling. Damage was confined to the interior room, with heat and smoke damage throughout the structure. Fire crews remained on scene until 11:34 AM.

There were no injuries to firefighting crews of civilians. The house was occupied by Judy Reynolds.

The Joplin Fire Department responded with 8 units and 20 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service. The American Red Cross was contacted to provide aid to the occupants.

The cause of fire was ruled electrical in nature.
