Guided bison hike planned at Prairie State Park

(From Missouri State Parks)

As temperatures increase, so does the activity on the prairie. Birds are singing, flowers are bursting from the prairie sod, insects are beginning to stir and bison are having babies!

Join staff for a guided hike at 10 a.m., April 6 to see what early spring uncovers. Don’t forget your camera!

Be prepared for a two-mile hike over uneven terrain. Bringing water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Binoculars will be useful for looking at bison as well as other wildlife that may be out and about.

Dress for the weather; the prairie winds can be cold this time of year. Please call 417-843-6711 to register for the hike.

Prairie State Park is located at 128 NW 150th Lane, Mindenmines, in southwest Missouri. For more information, please contact Prairie State Park at 417-843-6711.
