The Dental Hygiene Department at Missouri Southern State University is partnering with the Community Clinic of Southwest Missouri to offer free dental services to area children from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, in the MSSU dental hygiene clinic – located on the first floor of the Julio S. León Health Sciences Building.
Families have already pre-registered their children for Community Clinic Sealant Day. The children currently receive free and reduced lunches at area schools.
“This target population often falls through the cracks when it comes to oral health services,” said Kim Rogers, interim dental hygiene department chair. “Our partnership will allow children to receive this valuable preventative treatment.”
MSSU plans to host another event like this in the future. Families looking to qualify can contact Stephanie Brady at the Community Clinic of Southwest Missouri at (417) 624-5500 or by email: stephanie@joplinclinic.org.
