According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo driven by Johnny J. Berry, 59, Exeter, failed to yield to a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 pickup driven by Daniel R. Lloyd, 43, Aurora. The Lloyd vehicle struck the side of the Berry vehicle.
A passenger in the Berry vehicle, Scott C Menick, 57, Joplin, was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Deputy Coroner Gary Swanson.
Berry was airlifted to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, where Dr. Hedge pronounced him dead at 9:47 a.m.
Lloyd was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Cassville.
The fatalities were the 17th and 18th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
