Sarcoxie traffic stop leads to arrest of Carthage man on meth charge

(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)

Outstanding warrant and controlled substance arrest

On April 8th, 2019 at 1600 hours (4:00pm) a traffic stop was conducted on 7th Street after the vehicle was observed with expired plates. The vehicle, a small white, single cab Chevy pickup was being driven by Arthur Snethen II of Carthage, Mo and had a female passenger, Angela Eli of Sarcoxie, Mo.

A second Sarcoxie officer arrived on scene at this time. Upon further investigation the plates on the vehicle did not match the pickup. Snethen was a revoked driver and had an outstanding warrant out of Jasper County.

A consent search was asked of the vehicle. Consent was given.

Upon the search of the vehicle, even after being asked multiple times if there was anything in the vehicle, two small baggies of a crystal like substance that field tested for methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was found in the driver's side of the vehicle.

Snethen was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Jail for the outstanding warrant, possession of a controlled substance and driving while revoked.

Eli was released at the scene without incident.

Snethen is innocent until proven other otherwise by the courts.
