Citizen tip leads to Jasper man's arrest on meth charges

(From the Jasper Police Department)

On Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 1356 hours, a Jasper PD officer made contact with the residents at ‪510 S. 2nd St., Jasper, Mo.‬, in reference to a drug investigation.

The officer made contact with Kevin Iles of Jasper in the garage. A search of Iles' person and pockets was conducted.

The officer located a silver tin container in his front left pant pocket. Inside the container was a plastic baggy with about 1/4 gram of a white crystal substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine as well as a red straw cut for narcotic use with a white powder residue.

Iles was arrested and transported to the Jasper County SO jail. He is being held for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Once again community policing and building trust between the citizens and the Jasper Police Dept. paid off.

The tip came from a citizen who has put their trust in us to follow up on the information and keep the information given confidential. Any information related to crime, please feel free to report to Chief Chad Karr @ 417-483-6261 or to our Jasper PD police page on Facebook. Thank you to all who help us fight crime, especially the meth fight in our area.

Note: Iles is presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
