On June 23rd, 2019, Joplin Police were dispatched to the area of Florida Ave & Salem Ave about a suspicious vehicle.
The caller reported that an unknown male almost struck her house with a vehicle then fled on foot.
Upon arrival officer discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen out of St. Louis County, MO. Officers learned the suspect listed in the vehicle theft was Brandon Hixon, of Webb City, MO.
Hixon who had a felony warrant for his arrest was observed inside the residence 2429 E. Salem Ave.
The residence was surrounded, and Hixon refused to surrender. A search warrant was obtained, and the house surrounded by JPD SWAT. After several hours Hixon, surrendered without further incident.
Hixon was served with his felony warrant and charged with Tampering 1st Degree with Motor Vehicle & Felony Resisting arrest.
