New officers joining Joplin Police Department

We would like to congratulate the following police recruits on their badge pinning that took place last night. After completing the Joplin Police Department’s In-House academy, they will be beginning an extensive 16-week field training program. Please welcome these new officers who are going to be serving our community.

Officer Levi Winstead

Officer Winstead grew up in Joplin, MO. Officer Winstead was a Joplin Police Explorer from 2012-2018. Please welcome Officer Winstead.

Officer Hayden Hinkle


Officer Hinkle grew up in Joplin, MO. Officer Hinkle was a Joplin Police Explorer from 2011-2016. Officer Hinkle was a Jasper County Jailer before joining the police department. Please welcome Officer Hinkle.

Officer Tim Hudson

Officer Hudson grew up in Joplin, MO. Officer Hudson was also a Joplin Police Explorer. Officer Hudson is an Army Veteran. Officer Hudson served with Missouri Probation and Parole before joining the Joplin Police Department. Please welcome Officer Hudson.








Officer Jacob Way


Officer Way grew up in Quapaw, OK. Officer Way was a Joplin City Jailer before joining the Joplin Police Department. Please welcome Officer Way.

Officer Matteo LaVite

Officer LaVite grew up in Anderson, MO. Officer LaVite attended Missouri Southern State University obtaining a bachelors degree before joining the Joplin Police Department. Please welcome Officer LaVite.
