Jasper Police arrest couple on meth, marijuana charges

Possession of Controlled Substance Arrest

On Saturday, May 5, 2018, Jasper PD Sgt. Matthew Cooperrider made contact with a male and female in a black truck parked behind Pete's Convenience store, in reference to suspicious activity. 

Sgt. Cooperrider smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The passenger, Michele Martin, admitted to having a marijuana pipe. 

Upon questioning, the driver, Andrew Martin, admitted to having a methamphetamine pipe with methamphetamine in it. 

Upon search of the vehicle, Sgt. Cooperrider located pills identified as Clonazepam which is a schedule 4 narcotic, a methamphetamine pipe with a white powder inside believed to be methamphetamine and syringes were found on the ground outside the vehicle.

Andrew was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Michele was arrested for possession f a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven in a court of law.
