A Joplin man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 9:20 a.m. Thursday on Saginaw Road, one mile south of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado driven by George G. Carder, 49, Joplin, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Carder was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
