JFD crews respond to structure fire at 3107 S. Missouri

Joplin Engine 4B, Ladder 5B, Rescue 4B, Ladder 1B, and Battalion 1B responded Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at approximately 4:06 pm for a reported structure fire at 3107 S. Missouri. 

On arrival of the first crew, light smoke was showing from a single-story wood frame structure. Crews made an interior attack and extinguished the fire in the kitchen. Damage was confined to the kitchen with heavy heat and smoke damage throughout the structure. 

Fire crews were on scene until 5:25pm and there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. The Joplin Fire Department was assisted by the Joplin Police Department, Metro Emergency Transport System, and the American Red Cross. The heat index at the time of the fire was in the mid 90’s.
