The East Newton R-6 Board of Education reviewed results of an anonymous community survey on the four-day school week Thursday night.
East Newton went to the four-day week this year, conducting classes Tuesday through Friday of each week.
"The results were overwhelmingly positive," Superintendent Ron Mitchell said.
Eighty-eight percent of the public approved of the schedule, with 73 percent of teachers saying the schedule was having a positive effect on school morale. Twenty-five percent said they saw no difference in the morale, while two percent said it was worse.
Mitchell will e-mail survey results, which also included comments from the participants to board members.
In other action, the board:
-Approved the lease-purchase of two buses
-Approved summer school
