Missouri birth, death certificates available at Joplin Health Department

Did you know that you can obtain a certified copy of your birth certificate or a death certificate in Joplin, and it is printed while you wait? The Joplin Health Department at 321 E. 4th Street can provide this important documentation when you need it. Hours you may obtain these Vital Records are 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

In most cases we are able to print certificates for anyone born or deceased in Missouri. Birth certificates are for those born from 1920 to present. Birth certificates cost $15.00 for each copy. Death Certificates can be printed for deaths that occurred from 1980 to present. Death Certificates cost $13.00 for the first copy, and $10.00 for each additional copy printed at the same visit.

Vital Records are printed on a walk-in basis and take about 15 minutes. You must provide a photo ID, or two forms of alternate ID. You must be able to complete the form in its entirety to obtain this document. Please note that we are unable to make corrections, additions or deletions to Vital Records on file with the state. We can provide contact information for the Bureau of Vital Records if corrections are needed.
