Suspects sought after two men break into elderly Joplin woman's home, tie her up, steal valuables

This morning, January 9, 2019 at 8:25 a.m., the Joplin Police Department responded to an address northeast of downtown for a home invasion robbery.

An elderly female had two males force their way into her house. She was tied up and her valuables were stolen along with her vehicle. The suspects abandoned her vehicle close by and fled in the vehicle they had arrived in.

We are asking the public’s assistance as no arrests have been made in locating and identifying the suspects.



Suspect 1: described as 5’10, white male, “small mustache,” dark black hair wearing an unknown ball cap. Possibly a brown coat and or camouflage.

Suspect 2: described as a noticeably taller white male. No further description as of yet.

Suspect Vehicle: Late 90’s Red Dodge Ram pickup, no license plates. The vehicle was described with “two smaller doors in the back”, possibly an extended cab. Two to three stickers in the back window.

Both suspects were believed to also be wearing masks at the time of the crime.
