Winter weather advisory remains in effect for Joplin area through Saturday

...Winter Storm to Impact the Region...

.A slow moving storm system will bring a variety of precipitation
to the region from today into Saturday night. Mainly heavy snow
is expected from the Lake of the Ozarks area into the eastern
Ozarks. A wintry mix is expected elsewhere.

Significant travel impacts will become likely by late this
afternoon and especially this evening across central Missouri and
the eastern Ozarks. Impacts to travel are then expected from
later this evening into Saturday across much of the remainder of
the Missouri Ozarks.

SATURDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4
  inches expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and southwest and west
  central Missouri.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to midnight CST Saturday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
