Man arrested for DWI, meth possession after rear-ending Joplin Police Department vehicle

(From the Joplin Police Department)

We put a lot of work into finding impaired drivers, but sometimes they make it really easy.

Last night about 9:30 PM two detectives in an unmarked vehicle were stopped at a red light at 4th and Range Line. They were surprised when the car behind them bumped into their back bumper. The driver of that car was surprised when they turned on their red and blue lights.

The driver refused to exit the car and instead starting moving around hiding things. He was arrested for DWI, an outstanding warrant for DWI, driving while revoked, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

We use this "funny" story as a good reminder that impaired driver's make really poor choices, and not to drive impaired this weekend.
