Carterville man arrested on Webb City, Jasper County, Newton County warrants after motorcycle, foot chase

(From the Joplin Police Department)

We had an incident Thursday in central Joplin that led to a motorcycle rider fleeing from us and then Newton County. The rider entered Arbor Hills and ran on foot from the motorcycle. We were unable to locate him due to the wooded terrain. The motorcycle was reported stolen to us previously.

A few hours later, a neighbor reported the male emerged from the woods and was walking away. As officers arrived, the suspect repeated the situation and ran back into the woods. A lengthy search of almost 2 hours led to not finding him.

Thursday evening, one of our officers encountered the male exiting the woods south of Arbor Hills. The male again fled on foot. This time JPD K9 Fighter apprehended the male. He was transported to a local hospital to be cleared of his injuries and on to jail.

Most incidents aren’t this repetitive and time consuming, but we wanted everyone to know the male was in custody due to the persistence of everyone involved.

Dustin L. Holden, 28, Carterville, is currently in the city jail for a Webb City Warrant for resisting arrest, Jasper County Warrant for vehicle tampering and a Newton County PC hold for Resisting Arrest. Other charges are possible as the investigation continues.

Thank you to the Newton County Sheriff's Department for their assistance throughout yesterday.
