Barton County Sheriff seeking Lamar man for animal abuse, stealing livestock

(From the Barton County Sheriff's Office)

The Barton County Sheriff's Office is asking for the communities assistance in locating a subject with an active outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Dakota D. Brous, age 30, of Lamar has an active warrant for the criminal charge of Animal Abuse (Misdemeanor) and Stealing Livestock (felony).

Brous has a bond amount of $5,000 cash or surety. The investigation was conducted by the Barton County Sheriff's Office back in March of 2019.

A reporting party contacted the Sheriff's Office about dead livestock on a property in NE Barton County east of Milford. Deputy Sheriff Lance Butler and Dr. David Rybolt the District Veterinarian with the State of Missouri Department of Agriculture Division of Animal Health went to the property to inspect the cattle and found deceased livestock along with livestock in very poor condition.

If anybody knows the location of Dakota Brous we area asking you to contact the Barton County Sheriff's Office at 417-682-5541 or your Local Law Enforcemmen agency.

Or if Dakota would just turn himself in at the Barton County Sheriff's Office that would be greatly appreciated.
