Alternative energy students to showcase work at Crowder College Neosho campus

(From Crowder College)

Students in Alternative Energy programs at Crowder College will showcase some of their work on Thursday, April 19, 11am to 2pm in the Quad on the Neosho campus.

Students who are part of the Roy Blunt MARET (Missouri Alternative and Renewable Energy Technology) Center will have various wind and solar demonstrations set up for students and the community to view.

“Our students are able to take the concepts they learn in wind and solar classes and turn theories and formulas into prototypes and working models. This is a great opportunity for MARET students to share their projects. We have a couple of high schools who are bringing students to the event and we welcome anyone who is interested in alternative energy to join us on campus this Thursday.” Dr. Melissa Oates, MARET Center Director.

Crowder offers programs in wind and solar energy that provide pathways to further education or career opportunities upon graduation.

Crowder was designated the MARET Center by the Missouri Legislature in 1992. This year marks the 40th year Crowder has taught classes in alternative energy.
