Neosho man seriously injured, Carthage man cited for felony DWI following head-on collision on 175

A Carthage man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated following a head-on collision 7:08 p.m. Sunday on MO 175, 100 feet north of Neosho.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Acura TL driven by Tomas Paxtor, 27, Carthage, crossed the center line and struck a 1989 Ford F150 driven by Gerald L.Cornett, 57, Neosho.

Cornett was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

In addition to DWI, Paxtor, who was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, was charged with driving while revoked, careless and imprudent driving, no insurance and failure to display valid plates.
