(From Crowder College)
Auditions for the Crowder College Community Theatre production of Jeeves at Sea, a comedy adapted by Margaret Raether from the stories of P.G. Wodehouse, will be held Sunday afternoon, April 29, from 2 to 4 pm and Monday, April 30, from 5 to 7 pm at the Crowder College Theatre located on the Neosho Campus in the Elsie Plaster Center. There are parts for two women, Lady Stella Vanderley, and Miss Minerva Pilbeam, and four men, Bertie Wooster, Jeeves, Count Otto Von Dietrichestein, and Sir Percival Crumpworth.
A brief synopsis of the play is as follows (Playscripts, Inc.): Set sail for laughter as Bertie Wooster revels in life aboard the Vanderley yacht. Bertie is the pampered guest of the lively Lady Stella (very fetching profile), accompanied, as always, by his peerless valet, Jeeves. If only Bertie's pal Crumpet hadn't assaulted a prince. In the blink of an eye, Bertie is masquerading as a romance novelist, Crumpet's posing as his own long-lost twin, and a sinister foreign count is challenging Bertie to a duel. Will this madcap case of mistaken identities end in Bertie's doom--or worse, his marriage? Have no fear; Jeeves will sort it all out.
Performances dates are Friday, June 1 at 7:30, Saturday, June 2 at 7:30 and Sunday, June 3 at 2 pm.
