Sixth annual Vines and Grinds chili competition set for Saturday

Think you make the best chili or salsa around? Find out how it stacks up against others!

Or simply come enjoy food that others have made.

The 6th Annual Vines and Grinds chili competition will take place this Saturday, April 28 at Keltoi Vineyard in rural Oronogo, Mo. The event supports Midwest Low Vision Technology Center.

Spend the afternoon at the beautiful vineyard, listen to great music, sample delicious chili and sample local hand-crafted wines from Keltoi.

The cost is $10 per person. The wine tasting is open to those age 21 and older.

Music will be provided by The Bluffdwellers. Larry Carsten of Joplin and Stephen Smith of Carthage will play from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Those wanting to enter the Chili and Salsa competition can do so for $25 for one entry and $10 for each additional entry. Entry includes a tasting bracelet and souvenir glass. Cook your food at home and bring it out.

Salsa will be judged at 12 noon, Casi Chili at 1:30 p.m. and No Rules Chili at 2 p.m.
