Possession of Controlled Substance Arrest
On Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 at 1244 hours, a Jasper officer initiated a traffic stop at the SB 65.4 MM of I-49, on a passenger vehicle with Oklahoma plates in reference to a traffic violation. .
Contact was made with the driver, Charles Young of Miami, Ok. While speaking to Young, the officer smelled a moderate odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and observed a pack of rolling papers lying on top of some items on the front passenger floorboard. Young claimed the rolling papers were for rolling tobacco.
A search of the vehicle yielded a rolled cigarette with a mix of tobacco and suspected marijuana and a pill identified as adderall. Young admitted the marijuana cigarette was his and the he had forgotten about it. He said he had a prescription for the adderall, but could not provide any proof of that.
Young was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Jasper County jail.
