We have received word from Pittsburg Police that several community members have been scammed out of money by callers identifying themselves as Crawford County Deputies.
The callers tell the victim that they have a warrant for their arrest or have failed to appear for jury duty. They then demand the victims provide financial information to settle the incident.
This is not how business is conducted in either scenario and we ask that the public not provide any personal information over the phone to anyone without first verifying the legitimacy of the call.
