Joplin residents, including three-year-old, injured when car crashes avoiding deer

Two Joplin residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident 8:50 a.m. today on Douglas Fir Road, one mile south of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2000 Ford Focus driven by Dillon S. Ruark, 27, Joplin, swerved to miss a deer, traveled off the roadway and overturned.



Two passengers, Angelica L. Dallies, 26, and Allision Huffey, 3, both of Joplin, were treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.

Ruark was cited for a Jasper County felony probation violation warrant, a misdemeanor Webb City Police Department warrant, two misdemeanor Carthage Police Department warrants and two Joplin Police Department misdemeanor warrants.
