A Carthage man was killed in a three-vehicle accident 9:20 a.m. Monday on MO 96, three miles east of Carthage.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Chevrolet pickup driven by Tyler D. Box, 26, Carthage, crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2014 International dump truck driven by Jason A. Vickers, 44, Carthage. The Box vehicle then struck a 2008 Chevrolet 3500 driven by Amiel R. Overman, 24, Carthage head on, ejecting Box.
Jasper County Coroner Rob Chappel pronounced Box dead at 9:40 a.m.
Overman was airlifted to Mercy Springfield with moderate injuries.
The fatality was the 60th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
