Newsmakers program offers information on City of Joplin's Proposition A

Voters in Joplin head to the polls on August 7 to vote on a Use Tax proposal, listed on the ballots as City of Joplin Proposition A. The upcoming Newsmakers interview program reviews this topic and addresses how the Use Tax would apply to purchases make online or through catalogs.

Guests on the show included Drew Kimble and Amber Duncan, members of the Use Tax Citizens Task Force committee, and Leslie Haas, City Finance Director. In their discussion with host Judy Stiles, they note that the City’s Proposition A is not the same as the State of Missouri’s Proposition A, which addresses the right to work issue.
