MSSU's Zeta Tau Alpha sorority earns national honor

(From Southern News Service)

The Eta Upsilon chapter of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at Missouri Southern State University has been awarded the Crown Chapter Award for the 2017-18 school year.

The award is given to the top 10 percent of 171 national ZTA chapters which demonstrate excellence in the areas of membership, finance, activity, programming and operations.

Kylie Margeson, a sophomore from Carl Junction; and Bridgett Brennecke, a senior accounting major from Raymore, attended ZTA’s annual convention last month in Orlando, Fla. The Missouri Southern chapter has 42 active members, making it the largest Greek organization on campus.

“All of the members (of ZTA) demonstrate what it means to be involved in fraternity and sorority life and strive to attain and maintain a standard of excellence for past and future members of the organization,” said Eli Moran, coordinator of student life at MSSU. “Missouri Southern is lucky to have such a strong chapter that continues to exceed all expectations of both the university and the international office of Zeta Tau Alpha.”
