Barton County deputy injured in accident while responding to call

On 7/24/2018 a deputy was responding to assist another deputy in Burgess in reference to a call involving a Landlord/Tenant dispute where a subject became agitated and the deputy in Burgess asked for another unit to respond. 

While en route to the call he was asked to expedite or to hurry due to the subject's demeanor at the home in Burgess. 

The responding deputy while en route lost control of his vehicle and was involved in a one-vehicle motor vehicle accident. The deputy was traveling west on NW 30th Rd west of NW 80th Ln when he lost control of the patrol vehicle, struck a utility pole, and then overturned. 

The deputy was transported to Cox Barton County Memorial Hospital by the Barton County Ambulance and was treated for minor injuries and he was later released.

Missouri State Highway Patrol was called to investigate the accident.

A Lamar man was injured in a one-vehicle accident 5:20 p.m. Tuesday on NW 30th Road, 10 miles northwest of Lamar.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Ford F150 driven by Joseph L. Housel, 31, Lamar, lost control on gravel, slid off the left side of the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned.

Housel was treated for minor injuries at Cox Barton County Hospital, Lamar.
