Newsmakers program to focus on Jasper County sales tax vote

(From Southern News Service)

The next edition of Newsmakers will focus on the proposal to extend a sales tax measure in Jasper County – something that’s on the April 2 ballot.

If approved by voters, the measure would fund upgrades to the courthouse facilities in both Joplin and Carthage, as well as the county jail.

The interview program will begin airing on KGCS-TV on Sunday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m. – and features Jasper County Commissioner Darieus Adams and Jasper County Court Administrator Erik Theis. Both provide insight on the proposal, and the construction and renovation plans.

The show, which is currently posted on KGCS’s YouTube channel, “KGCS Missouri Southern,” will also air on KOAM-TV on Saturday, March 23 at 5:30 a.m.

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 22. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Cable One, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
