(From KGCS)Musical artists turn front porches into stages at the North Heights Porchfest slated for October 5th. Event coordinators share details of this year’s event on Newsmakers.
Porchfest website manager William Clift discusses the number of bands which has reached an all-time high as well as a new designated area for food trucks. He also shares information about fundraising events called Pourfests at Chaos Brewing that help support Porchfest, which is free to the public.
Members of the band, Gutter Divas, share some music and explain why they have participated in Porchfest since its inception. And veteran porch host Stephanie Moore who serves as Children’s Activities Coordinator, explains added games and entertainment for kids.
Newsmakers is airing nightly at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. the week of September 22 on KGCS-TV and will air at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, September 28 on KOAM-TV. It is also posted on the station’s YouTube channel: KGCS - Missouri Southern State University.
KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21 and is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Optimum Internet in Carthage. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
