London. Autumn 1889. The famous consulting detective Sherlock Holmes and his friend and colleague Dr. John Watson are called in to investigate a most intriguing mystery. What could have frightened Sir Charles Baskerville to death? Is there an ancient curse on the Baskerville family? In this new adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s greatest adventure Holmes and Watson pursue the answers to these questions from their rooms in Baker Street, through the teeming streets of London and on to the windswept moors of Devonshire. With a dash of humor, this thrilling feast culminates on the fog-bound reaches of Dartmoor, where finally the secret of The Hound of the Baskervilles is revealed.

The Crowder Theatre Department believes in the importance of literacy among today’s youth. Our season’s theme “Bring a Book: Youth Literacy Campaign” lends itself to an opportunity for us to give back within our community. We’ve selected various dates throughout the season where we’re offering free admission to anyone bringing a new children’s book! The books will be donated to local children, in the hope that we can inspire reading outside of the classroom. Admission to the 2pm show on Saturday, Oct. 17, will be waived with the donation of a new children’s book.

Prior to the production a book signing by Judy Haas Smith will be held in the newly remodeled Longwell Museum, Oct 15, 5-7pm.
