Winners of Missouri Southern State University’s annual Paint the Town Green & Gold event were announced Friday, Oct. 23.
“Paint the Town is an annual event that coincides with Missouri Southern’s Homecoming Week,” said Landon Adams, director of Student Activities. “It’s a way for our supporters to show their Lion pride.
“This year, we had more than 50 businesses participate. We had participants from Joplin, Carl Junction, Carthage, Webb City and Neosho. As always, it was incredibly hard to choose the winners because we had so many phenomenal displays.”
The winners were:
Best Interior: TownePlace Suites Joplin
Best Exterior: LaFerla Ortho
Most Detailed: Homewood Suites by Hilton
Most Unique: Residence Inn Joplin
Most Spirited: Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Missouri
Carl Junction Town Winner: Footprints & Friends Preschool, Inc.
Carthage Town Winner: Fair Acres Family YMCA
Joplin Town Winner: Atlas Safe Rooms
Neosho Town Winner: Neosho Chamber of Commerce
Webb City Town Winner: Henkle’s Ace Hardware
All participants received two tickets to the 37th annual Homecoming Picnic, tickets to the Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 24, a university window decal and a spirit flag.
Town winners will receive recognition at the Homecoming game and two basketball ticket mini-packs. Winners in the other categories will receive recognition at the game and a 15-second basketball spot on the video board.
