Public input sought on Joplin historic preservation plan

(From the City of Joplin)

The City of Joplin Historic Preservation Commission will be hosting a Public Meeting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, in the City Council Chambers on the fifth floor of City Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to solicit public opinion on the City of Joplin’s Historic Preservation Plan.

The City is currently in the process of updating this plan, which was first written in 1991 and has not since been updated. The selected consulting firm, Heritage Strategies, will facilitate conversation surrounding preservation issues within the City of Joplin. Public input is integral in the process of planning for the preservation of our historic places and stories, so participation from citizens is of special importance.
