Comments sought on Joplin area long range transportation plan

(From City of Joplin)

The Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) is seeking comments on its Draft 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The LRTP contains transportation, bicycle/pedestrian and transit goals for the Joplin Metropolitan Planning Area.

Earlier this year, JATSO staff met with the public and stakeholder groups to ensure public participation in this planning process. Now JATSO would like to hear public opinion on the completed draft of the 2035 LRTP. All comments must be received by Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Comments may be submitted to:

Public participation from citizens in the Metro area is the most important part of the planning process as they can identify everyday transportation issues that affect their daily lives. The JATSO Policy Board will review this item for approval on October 29, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.

The draft of the 2035 Long-Range Transportation Plan may be viewed at http://www.joplinmo.org/index.aspx?NID=741 or contact the Taylor Cunningham at 417-624-0820, ext. 511.
