MSSU activities for week of October 12-16

(From Southern News Service)

he Southern Wind Ensemble will present their fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in Taylor Performing Arts Center.
Under the direction of Dr. Rick Espinosa, the student performance group will feature a mix of old and new selections.
“We’ll be starting out with a modern fanfare, and there will be pasodoble in support of the university’s Spain Semester,” said Espinosa. “We’ll also perform one of the first pieces for modern wind ensembles, and a modern composition.
“The concert will be very tonal and accessible to the audience,” Espinosa says.
