Frontenac man arrested for Cherokee Little League burglary, meth possession

On 04-04-2018 Deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff's Office responded to the Cherokee Little League Baseball Park in Cherokee, KS in reference to a burglary and theft from a storage building at that location. Cherokee Little League staff reported to the responding deputies that forced entry was made into the storage building, and that approximately 300 feet of copper wire was stolen from inside.

Further investigation led deputies to determine that a subject had taken the wire and sold it to Advantage Metals- a recycling/scrap center in Cherokee County. Deputies obtained a search warrant which was executed with assistance from Frontenac Police Department at the home of Richard Todd Lee, 47 or Frontenac, KS on April 9, 2018. The search did not lead to the collection of any more of the stolen wire. During the course of the search, Deputies located vegetation and seeds that field tested presumptively positive for marijuana. Deputies also found a white substance on spoons that field tested presumptively positive for Methamphetamine. Drug paraphernalia was also collected.

Lee was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was booked in on charges of Burglary, Theft, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The investigation remains under investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff's Office.
