Joplin woman arrested for auto theft

On Saturday April 14, 2018 at 5:51pm a Joplin Police Officer observed a Blue GMC Yukon run a red light at 10th and Wall. The officer ran the license plate before stopping the vehicle, and discovered it was reported stolen out of Springfield, Missouri.

The officer stopped the vehicle in the alley at 9th and Virginia as it parked. The female driver was arrested for felony tampering with a motor vehicle and the passenger was arrested for misdemeanor tampering with a motor vehicle. The vehicle was recovered to be returned to the owner.

The driver of the vehicle, Heather Cunningham, 45, Joplin, was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle by the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office with a $5,000 cash bond.
