Neosho toddler injured in two-vehicle accident on I-49

A Neosho two-year-old was injured in a two-vehicle accident 11:58 a.m. today on I-49, three miles south of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Chevrolet pickup driven by Kenneth E. Kailin, 57, Fort Smith, Arkansas, slowed in traffic due to a crash ahead and was struck from behind by a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Alexis D. Surber, 21, Neosho.

A passenger in the Surber vehicle, Lavayah Barrett, 2, Neosho, was treated for minor injuries at Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage.
