Woman who attacked Joplin police officer, tried to knee him in the groin, arrested for assault, obstruction, five outstanding warrants

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Incident Spotlight

On Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to 32nd and McIntosh Circle, between Freeman and the YMCA for a male and female who were in a disturbance.

Officers arrived and located the male and female and began an investigation. It became very apparent to the officers the female was lying about her identity as she changed the letters her last name started with and had to think hard about her date of birth.

The information the female provided was false and didn’t match the female. After being told again her information was false and being given an opportunity to correct it, she refused to. The officer tried to detain her in handcuffs and she resisted arrest.

She attempted to knee the officer in the groin and assaulted him with her knee and hands. She was taken into custody and her true identity was discovered, along with five outstanding warrants for her. She was also cited for obstruction and assault on law enforcement.
