Joplin celebrates 100th Habitat for Humanity home

This week, Joplin Habitat for Humanity celebrated its 100th house built since the May 22, 2011, tornado:

"The last four and a half years have been filled with a lot of hard work. Tremendous amount of blessing," said Scott Clayton, Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity Executive Director.

While Monday's gathering was to welcome the Mike Boykin family home, it was also a chance to thank the volunteers near and far who put in the work to build the homes.

"You know that day in May changed the story for us all. It was a lot of work, you know, it really was. And it wasn't just us, it's thousands people who came together," said Clayton.

Once the celebration was over, it was time to hand over another set keys to another family, ready to start their life in their new home.
