A Goodman woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident 6:57 p.m. Monday on I-49 at Pineville.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2013 Freightliner driven by Jerry L. Parker, 42, Indianola, Mississippi, pulled from the shoulder and began accelerating on the roadway, when it was struck in the rear by a 2014 Chevolet Silverado driven by Gina L. Watson, 50, Goodman.
Watson was pronounced dead at the scene by McDonald County Coroner William Goodwin at 7:33 p.m.
The fatality was the fifth this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
