A new edition of “Newsmakers” as well as broadcasts of the Cardinals Caravan visit and upcoming Board of Governors meeting are scheduled to air on KGCS-TV.
“Newsmakers” will focus on how pictures help tell stories in both print and video media. It will feature presentations made at last month’s Southern Media Showcase Day, as well as interviews with two graduates who share insight into their jobs. Noppadol Paothong talks about his work as a nature photographer for the Missouri Department of Conservation, while Alonzo Medcalf discusses his work as a news videographer with KMOV-TV in St. Louis.
It will air at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, through Thursday, Jan. 21, and again at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20. It will also air at 5 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, on KOAM-TV.
KGCS will also record and broadcast the Cardinals Caravan presentation by members of the St. Louis Cardinals, including a question and answer session with the players.
It will air at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19; 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20; 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24; and at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25.
The Missouri Southern State University Board of Governors meeting will also be recorded to air on KGCS.
It will air at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, and 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24.
“Newsmakers” is produced by KGCS-TV, a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern. Programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems, as well as on the station’s YouTube channel.
